From the President:
On behalf of the members of the South Carolina Koi
and Water Garden Society I would like to welcome you to our small corner of
piscatorial cyber space. The South Carolina Koi and Water Garden Society
is located in the Upstate of South Carolina.
Our goal is to promote the hobby of keeping and
breeding Koi and pond fish, as well as encouraging an interest in aquatic
plants and water gardening.
We are a diverse group representing a wide range of
gardeners. Some of us raise and breed Koi and goldfish while others have water
gardens and specialise in growing plants that live in or near water. Some of
us do both and have Koi and goldfish in our water gardens. We meet monthly,
generally at the home of a member. We all bring a dish to share and enjoy a
brief formal program of interest to our members.
Each year we sponsor a Pond Tour when some of our
members welcome the community to visit their ponds. Some ponds are smaller
than one hundred gallons, while others exceed ten thousand gallons! Some
“ponds” are really waterfalls with no pond. (Have you been on a vacation near
the water and thought how nice it would be to hear the sound of a waterfall at
your home?)
You do not need to have a water garden to join our
group. All you need is some curiosity. Dues are minimal. For additional
information, contact us at the e-mail address below.
